Ambience Healthcare raises $243M, reaches $1.25B valuation

Ambience Healthcare, which provides ambient AI to health systems for clinical documentation, has raised $243 million to increase its valuation to over $1 billion.

The startup said July 29 it secured the series C funding co-led by venture capital firms Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz. Other investors included the OpenAI Startup Fund and Optum Ventures.

Ambience is a growing player in the burgeoning ambient AI market, with health system clients including Cleveland Clinic, Houston Methodist and Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke’s Health System. The company says adoption of its technology has been fastest in highly complex subspecialties, emergency departments and inpatient settings.
